howdy folks. this week has been much the same, im still with elder vaca-guzman, i dont get a new companion until tomorrow. i dont know what transfers are going to be, but i think ill stay in downey. we have been super busy since last tuesday, covering 2 areas and everything, so its been pretty cool to be really busy for a change. ive been on splits with so many different people, to church, to meetings, to appointments, tons of stuff, and it was fun to go with members for a while to get to know them better. there are only like 3 youth in our ward that are able to go on splits with us so i had to start calling in the reserves, returned missionaries, married people, all sorts of good stuff. its been fun. there was a referral we got a few days ago that i was finally able to contact and she has a lot of potential, and i say that from the reason that before i had even met her i talked to her on the phone and she asked what she needed to do to be a member. we taught a great lesson on the restoration and it all went down really well. she couldnt come to church this sunday because she was out of town, same with next sunday for the same reason, but after that, shes going to start coming and bring her 5 year old son so he can learn as well. the only problem i forsee at this point is an awkward one. she has had a pretty rough life (she is 23) and made lots of poor decisions, and now is trying to change. ... anyway, ill let you guys know how things progress. spencer querry emailed me this week. when i talked to him in the mtc, he said he couldnt speak spanish and then in his email he still couldnt speak it but he is getting called up to be a zone leader. i thought that was pretty cool. i was going to write a bit to shilo but i havent gotten around to it. there is a lot of letter writing i need to do, but there is always something else i can do instead i have come to find out. next week i will tell you all about my new companion, the one like elder calhoun. that would be so fun. things should be back to normal then, although, this change in schedule was quite enjoyable. it was a good break from the same day to day routine. good luck at home. vamoose
