New Companion
ok, for housekeeping. yes please send eye drops, no dont send my backpack. please send my retainers if you have them. i need the names and address and phone number of the members of our new bishopric. you asked what special things we did for fathers day and they are as follows: nothing. we did a normal work day, just like always :) for 4th of july: picked up trash for like 4 hours as a district, then had normal work. holidays are a blast here... ive seen the first ice cream trucks here, they are all over the streets, and a ton of helado carts, who get paid like 5 bucks to push a cart full of frozen stuff and tons of junk tied on all day. there are loads of those too. i guess i should tell you i got a new companion almost 2 weeks ago, his name is elder seaman, he is from palmyra new york, from a tiny little farm town near palmyra technically but its the same deal with me, im from park city because no one has heard of kamas, he is from palmyra because no one has heard of where he is from. the palmyra temple is right across the field for him. he is another old missionary, he goes home in a couple months. im still in harbor city, but i like it now. we have a lot of fun together, which was different with elder fennell, but now i am enjoying harbor city which is good becuase i still have another 3 months here probably. i realized this month that on the 30th of june i hit 5 months, in 3ish more weeks it will be 6. it seems like ive been out so much longer than that. i heard from kamas and shilo today, which was cool, but now it means im going to have to write a couple letters because i cant email them back. weve been meeting with this couple, victor, a skinny mexican that weighs probably 125 lbs and his girlfriend heather, a samoan that is no less than 450, dead serious both ways. they have a 1 year old son who is huge, he takes after his mom. he is twice as big as a normal kid, not fat ways but tall ways. he looks like a mini football player. theyre not married yet and victor has 10 months of parole left, but after that, theyre good for baptism. we have to wait til he is off parole so i wont be here, but we set a date for next year. ill have to call them then and see how theyre doing. the girl who was going to be baptized on the 22 didnt get baptized, because elder fennell cancelled it because he didnt think her testimony was strong enough, even tho she told us when she prayed the first time she got her answer and wanted to get baptized. dunno what he was thinking, but we dont have to worry about that now, were setting a date with her tonight. there are a couple more investigators that were working with who we will be setting dates with during this week, were having a lot of success. i realized that ive been here too long, because even on the super busy streets where tons of people go every day, 8 of 10 of them recognize me when we try to teach them, and every door we knock i know the persons name and their excuses before we open the door because ive heard them enough. i always quote them to elder seaman while theyre coming to the door. thats about it for today, ill talk to all of you later
